Legendary Terasense 100GHz (>2W) Generator is back!

Many of our customers and fans of terahertz technology who closely monitor our evolution have surely  noticed that a couple of years ago we downgraded the output power of our most powerful generator from 2W down to only 1.6W. We were forced to do it due to unstable supply of certain components from our suppliers and some other reasons.

1.6W is also a high power, yet 2W is much higher! After years of searching, R&D and trials we have finally found all components we need to get our legendary ~100GHz (2W) wave source back and we have already updated our product web-page accordingly !

Frankly speaking, the results our scientists obtained during their R&D test, drastically surpassed their own expectations, as they actually get a 3W generator! It’s an unprecedent success. Even though it may not look so impressive for an unsophisticated eye,  it is considered to be a  truly gigantic output power in terahertz industry. This level of power is capable of damaging certain fragile equipment (e.g. built in frequency multiplier etc). Therefore, in order to stay on the safe side our experts decided to keep it safely lower, at the comfortable level of our customary 2W. After all, it's Terasense technicians, who will have to handle repairs ultimately, no matter whether they are covered by warranty or not.

Just as a little recap,
High output power can be critical in certain applications involving the need to see though some thick materials of penetrating high-density substances.  All our 100GHz wave sources including this most powerful one, are fully compatible with our 2D (square) THz imaging cameras (sensor arrays) and our 100GHz high -speed linear scanner systems.

Needless to say, that we strongly recommend to use a attenuator with such powerful source.

If the attenuator is built inside our wave source, it utilizes digital controls to adjust output power.   Integrated attenuator will help our end-users keep the output power under control and reduce it whenever necessary (viz. to counter the overexposure and other adverse effects when using it with THz camera).

Irrespective of the type of THz imaging setup you need, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with our mighty 2W wave source, and are welcome to contact Terasense for more information and, of course, requests for quotations.
